Influenza epidemics occur yearly during autumn and winter, and can seriously affect all age groups. Generally, influenza is a much more serious illness than most people appreciate. Even a “typical” flu season results in 36,000 deaths in America each year (according to CDC statistics), and 250,000 to 500,000 deaths worldwide.
Receiving a flu shot is an important part of overall health prevention. The chances of becoming ill from influenza and missing work may be reduced by as much as 70-90% through immunization.
The Oncidium Health Group Immunization Program will assist your company by significantly reducing the high costs associated with influenza-related absences.

H1N1:
Vaccines are one of public health’s most effective tools for preventing serious infectious diseases, and the illness and death caused by these diseases. The seasonal influenza vaccine prepares your body to fight off infection from the three influenza viruses covered by the vaccine. However – the seasonal influenza vaccine will only protect you against the three seasonal influenza viruses and will not provide protection against the pandemic H1N1 influenza virus. A separate pandemic H1N1 influenza vaccine is available to protect against the pandemic H1N1 virus. With two kinds of influenza viruses circulating, it is recommended that people receive both influenza vaccines. Oncidium Health Group is now a Ministry of Health-approved provider of H1N1 influenza vaccine for the workplace.
